What is the role of a Medical Organiser

Modified on Thu, 2 Jul at 9:50 AM

At least one person on the organising faculty of your education activity must be a doctor who holds Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council. This person's details must be entered in the "Medical Organiser" section of your online application form, and the doctor must sign the Medical Organiser Declaration Form

The Medical Organiser for your event assumes responsibility for ensuring the scientific validity and objectivity of the educational content and for ensuring that it supports a doctor's maintenance of Professional Competence.

The Medical Organiser is also responsible for reviewing the financial disclosures submitted by all those involved in the education (planners, educators, etc) to identify and mitigate any relevant financial relationships.

A financial relationship is considered relevant if it relates to the content of the activity and the business lines or products of the company involved.
