As you are aware, it is a legal requirement to fulfil the Medical Council Maintenance of Professional Competence requirements each year.
When you are completing the annual retention of registration application form, the Medical Council will ask you to declare (by selecting Yes/No) the following:
- That you are enrolled on a Professional Competence Scheme in Ireland and have paid the Scheme enrolment fee
- That your most recent Annual Statement of Participation demonstrates that you are meeting your maintenance of professional competence requirements.
At the end of each professional competence year, the Medical Council will ask all Training Bodies for the registration numbers of all those who have not met the Scheme requirements.
