From 1 May 2025, the Irish Medical Council requires doctors enrolled on a Professional Competence Scheme to follow a new framework for recording their Professional Competence activities



What has changed?

Type of practice

Under the new framework, doctors will be required to record a specific number of credits per CPD (Continuing Professional Development) category, based on their type of practice.  


Type of practice means whether you have informed the Irish Medical Council whether you are engaged in the practice of medicine or are not engaged in the practice of medicine
